Practicing

So touring has always been a soft spot for me, it's been a little question as to what is an electronic musician to do in order to keep the performance compelling, authentic, challenging, musical and fun to perform. I decided to start touring here and there with Paul Pfisterer a couple of years ago and we have been experimenting with different methods of how to play these songs live ever since. This is a little video of us practicing "Awful Game" as more of a folk song.

Wow I'm diggin the folk version of the song, sounds really good!!! I've been a fan for a few years now and have yet to see you in person. When you go on tour in the US, please stop by Denver. Thanks for the wonderful music!!!

I really like it. It's different from the original but still true to it you know? Makes for a good live performance idea since the audience is getting something different from the album.

The acoustic version was amazing....and in a day and time where artists sometimes don't sound sound the same live vs. in the studio, it's refreshing that you're just as on point and melodic live as in on your albums. Thank you for the refreshing sound!

You could think about recording some kind of "unplugged" CD, really. That version of "Awful Game" is really nice! Different, but still great. Probably it's just because of your voice ;)

Hey Ann, it's funny you say that because I think we are going to do about 7 songs in the studio, piano, drums and acoustic guitar and film it and release it as an acoustic cd and vids possibly. I am really enjoying singing these songs like this.

with electronic music, i get nervous as to what the outcome will be when a song is done acoustically. i get "nervous" b/c i'm afraid i won't enjoy it for the same reasons as I did when the song was electronisized ( if that's a word!) now with that said, i really like the acoustic version of awful games. What surprised me is how strong your voice is. On the album, your voice is usually really soft but still effective. On the video, it's live, raw, and it's what you initially feel. It's a new experience. so....thumbs up!

Hello Mike! Im a flamenco guitar player, and usually i dont listen to electronic music, but your music is exception. There is something in it which i really like, its done with taste and great feeling. And now i see that you are able to perform the same songs live, without any electronic instrument, only with your voice and guitar. And song remains the same! Bravo! Thank you for you music!!! Come to Russia, there are no bears and snow, instead only sunny days and beautiful girls :)

I loved the folk version and I love the original. I love how music doesn't always just have to be one set way. There's so many possibilities. So much freedom. It was really fun to see you singing it. Thanks for doing the blog; I always look forward to new entries.

Im interested in hearing this new ep. Like you said above though no rush it. It always seems the thing we let take time becomes the most signifecant. I like these looks into your process.

This is amazing.

Wow. Milosh's voice is so perfectly soft and smooth when singing low into the microphone during recordings....and it's JUST as velvety when belting it out on a couch acoustic style. Now that's a talented voice!

Your favorite gooberhead here. You know I love this version so much, but I thought I'd say it again. Thanks so much for posting this video and for putting out the amazing work that you do.

I really wish I had your voice. I'm trying to give myself voice lessons to see if I can make something that can sound even half as good as your material!!
